Upcoming Mega Projects In Dubai

When “big projects” are the theme, Dubai definitely comes first. Thanks to its amazing projects, it has become a cosmopolitan city with world standards that is visited by the whole world. 

Currently, multi-billion dollar new construction projects are underway in Dubai, ensuring that it will remain a top world destination. 

Dubai is known for its magnificent structures, from towering skyscrapers like the Burj Khalifa to man-made islands like Palm Jumeirah and Pearl Jumeirah. Several new projects are underway, some  were delayed due to last year’s pandemic. We expect the following wonders to be ready in 2023, adding to the unique charm of Dubai.

The Royal Atlantis

The Royal Atlantis, figuratively the little sister of the Atlantis (and literally larger by doubling its height), has been eagerly awaited since the day it was announced. From the picture-perfect location at the tip of Palm Jumeirah and stunning contemporary architecture, to the array of resort amenities and exciting restaurant concepts by Heston Blumenthal and Jose Andres, there’s plenty to look forward to. The complex is scheduled to open in the second half of this year.

Burj Jumeirah

Burj Jumeirah is one of the new mega projects in Dubai that will take our breath away. It is located near the Burj Al Arab. The height of this magnificent skyscraper will reach 550 meters. The design of the Burj Jumeirah is inspired by the Arabian desert sand dunes and flowing oases, giving it a picturesque look. In addition, it will include a series of viewing platforms to see the incredible landscapes of Dubai.

The Heart of Europe

The Heart of Europe is an upcoming project in Dubai with a new concept; They bring Europe to the heart of the Arabian Gulf via 6 different islands.

Each is inspired by a specific European country down to the smallest detail, so you feel right there.

In addition, each island’s architecture is cleverly designed using the latest technologies and customized for each country. The first phase has been completed, but the completion date of the entire project has not yet been determined.

One Za’abeel

Dubai Creek Tower

Also, one of the islands will be a tourist attraction with many interesting destinations. In the second, luxury villas and an excellent retreat for residents will be built.

Dubai Harbour

The Port of  Dubai  has been a unique project since its announcement, adding to Dubai’s impressive array of man-made islands and extending the city’s coastline a little further. The island is home to a special high-rise residential community known as the Emaar Beachfront Community, as well as two cruise terminals, the largest  marina in the Middle East and a stunning new landmark in the form of the Dubai Lighthouse. At the end of 2020 the first 

 yachts appeared on the island  and we can expect a grand opening later this year.

Expo 2020

Originally scheduled for October of last year, Expo 2020 was pushed back as a result of the pandemic to later this year. This massive festival will feature opulent themed pavilions representing many nations as well as concepts important to our future, including sustainability. Several of the pavilions are already open for public viewing and an extension to the Dubai Metro known as the Expo 2020 Line began operations from the start of this year.

Dubai Hills Mall

The Dubai Hills Mall, a mega shopping center located within the community of Dubai Hills Estate, will be much more than just a retail destination once completed. The mall will include an 18-screen rooftop cinema, a hypermarket, 650 stores, and a plaza modeled after a European town square. Dubai Hills Estate residents will have direct access to the mall via a lovely tree-lined boulevard.

Museum of the Future

This extremely unusual building has given Sheikh Zayed Road’s skyline a modern feel and looks quite at home in the background of a science fiction movie. The museum will serve as a hub for creativity, tolerance, and innovation, offering an audacious outlook on the UAE’s future. The interior design of the building will feature several innovative elements as well.

Palm Tower

Palm Tower is one of the most exciting projects on the Palm, rising 240 meters high alongside the Nakheel Mall. The skyscraper will contain one of the tallest infinity pools in the world on its 50th level, as well as a rooftop restaurant, an observation deck and the city’s second St. Regis Hotel along with bottom 18 storeys. Around the end of this month, the observation deck will open its doors to the public, followed by the grand opening of the tower shortly after.

Al Quoz Creative Zone, Dubai

This Dubai neighborhood will be transformed into one of the world’s major creative centers.

Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed, chairperson of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority and a member of the Dubai Council, approved the proposals submitted by Dubai Municipality.

It will ultimately provide homes for more than 8,000 people and draw roughly 33,000 people a day. When completed, the number of creatives based in the zone is estimated to grow from 900 to 20,000.

Mohammed bin Rashid Solar Park

This simply keeps growing and growing. The plant, located in the Dubai desert, is expected to achieve a total capacity of 5,000 MW by the year 2030. As of the end of October, it had a production capacity of 1,827 megawatts.

With an estimated Dh50 billion ($13.61 billion) in total investments, it is the largest solar park on a single location in the whole globe. When finished, it will reduce yearly carbon dioxide emissions by more than 6.5 million tonnes.

Starting in Q3 2025, the park’s sixth phase will gradually open for use.

Ciel Dubai

The city already possesses the world’s highest hotel, the 356m Gevora Hotel, but a new record holder is on the way.

Building of Ciel tower in Dubai Marina is under progress and it will eventually reach 365 meters, according to developer The First Group. It will contain approximately 1,000 premium hotel suites spread across 82 floors, as well as a glass observation deck with 360-degree views.
